Keravive Scalp Treatment in Jacksonville: What to Expect

Keravive is a scalp treatment from the makers of HydraFacial, and you can book it at RE Spa in Julington Creek, Jacksonville. In plain terms, it is a facial for your scalp: a three-step process that cleanses away buildup, feeds the scalp and hair follicles with a peptide solution, and continues at home with a daily spray.

People usually ask about a Keravive scalp treatment for one of two reasons. Their scalp is dry, itchy or flaky, or their hair looks thinner than it used to. This guide covers what happens in each step, how long it takes, who it suits and what to ask before you book.

What is a Keravive scalp treatment?

Keravive is a specialized scalp treatment designed to cleanse, nourish and hydrate the scalp for healthier, fuller-looking hair. It uses the same HydraFacial Vortex Technology as our facials, moved from the face to the scalp.

The idea is simple. Hair grows from follicles in the scalp, and a scalp clogged with oil, product buildup and dry skin is not a great place to grow anything. Keravive removes that buildup and stimulates circulation.

You will find it on our spa services menu alongside our HydraFacial treatments.

What happens during the three steps?

Every Keravive treatment follows the same order. Two steps happen in the treatment room and the third happens at home.

  1. Step 1: Purify. Your provider cleanses and exfoliates the scalp with HydraFacial Vortex Technology. It extracts dirt, oil and impurities from the scalp and hair follicles while stimulating circulation.
  2. Step 2: Nourish. The HydraFacial Keravive Peptide Complex Solution is delivered to the scalp. It nourishes and stimulates the scalp and follicles with growth factors and skin proteins to promote thicker, healthier-looking hair.
  3. Step 3: Boost. At home, you use the Keravive Peptide Complex Spray every day. It extends the treatment with daily stimulation and nourishment between visits. The spray is included in the price of your treatment.

Step 3 matters more than people expect. The in-spa session does the deep cleaning and the first delivery of the peptide solution, and the daily spray keeps that work going.

Why LED light therapy is included

At RE Spa, LED light therapy is included in all Keravive treatments. On the scalp, LED light therapy is used to:

  • Stimulate circulation of blood flow to support scalp health
  • Reduce inflammation of the follicle to help soothe irritation
  • Support a healthy scalp microbiome with its anti-bacterial properties

If you have had a Platinum HydraFacial with us, you already know the light. Our guide to what a HydraFacial is and which one to pick explains how LED fits into the facial version.

Partial or full scalp: which one should you book?

We offer Keravive in two sizes. The steps are the same; the difference is how much of the scalp is treated and how long you are with us.

Keravive scalp treatment options at RE Spa
Treatment Time in the room Area treated LED light therapy
Partial Scalp Treatment 45 to 60 minutes Part of the scalp Included
Full Scalp Treatment 90 to 120 minutes The whole scalp Included

A partial treatment makes sense when your concern is in one place, such as the hairline, the part or the crown. A full treatment makes sense when dryness, flaking or thinning is spread across the whole scalp. Not sure which describes you? Call us and we will help you choose before you book.

New to RE Spa and want to try us first? Your first 60-minute massage or Classic Facial is $89.95 with our new guest offer, and it is an easy way to meet the team before a longer treatment.

Who is Keravive good for?

Keravive is ideal for anyone experiencing dryness, irritation or thinning hair. You may be a good fit if any of these sound familiar:

  • Your scalp feels dry, tight or itchy, especially in cooler months or after a summer of sun, salt water and chlorine.
  • You see flakes on your shoulders or along your part.
  • Styling products, dry shampoo or hard water leave your scalp feeling coated.
  • Your hair looks less full than it did a few years ago.

One honest note. Keravive is a cosmetic treatment for scalp health and the look of your hair. It is not a medical treatment for hair loss. If you have sudden or patchy hair loss, sores or a scalp condition that is being treated by a doctor, see your doctor or dermatologist first.

What results do people report?

The figures below are the ones we publish on our Services page for the HydraFacial Keravive treatment. After just one treatment, patients reported an improvement in scalp itchiness, scalp dryness, flakiness and hair fullness. After a full course of treatments, which is three treatments at RE Spa, patients reported:

  • 75% improvement in hair fullness
  • 72% improvement in overall hair appearance
  • 64% improvement in overall confidence

These are patient-reported improvements, not a promise of a specific result. Scalp comfort tends to change first. Fuller-looking hair takes longer, because hair grows slowly, which is why Keravive is planned as a course of three treatments with the daily spray in between.

How is Keravive different from a HydraFacial?

They are close relatives. Both use Vortex Technology to cleanse and extract, then deliver a treatment solution. The target is what changes.

How much is a Keravive treatment in Jacksonville?

Keravive is priced by size. LED light therapy and the take-home Peptide Complex Spray are included in both prices.

  • Is your main goal a more comfortable scalp, fuller-looking hair or both?
  • Will you use a daily scalp spray at home?
  • Are you being treated for any scalp or skin condition?

Frequently asked questions

What is Keravive?

Keravive is a three-step HydraFacial scalp treatment. It cleanses and exfoliates the scalp, delivers a peptide solution with growth factors and skin proteins, and continues at home with a daily spray.

How long does a Keravive treatment take?

At RE Spa, a Partial Scalp Treatment takes 45 to 60 minutes and a Full Scalp Treatment takes 90 to 120 minutes. Both include LED light therapy.

Is Keravive worth it for thinning hair?

It can be a good fit if your hair looks less full and your scalp is dry, flaky or irritated. Patients reported a 75% improvement in hair fullness after a full course. It is a cosmetic treatment, so see a doctor first for sudden or patchy hair loss.

Is Keravive the same as a scalp massage?

No. A scalp massage is hands-on relaxation. Keravive is a device-based treatment that cleanses the scalp and delivers a peptide solution. If relaxation is the goal, our first visit guide explains how a massage appointment works.

How many Keravive treatments will I need?

Scalp itchiness, dryness and flakiness were reported as improved after just one treatment. The hair fullness figures come from a full course, which is three treatments at RE Spa. Ask your provider what they recommend for you.
