Your First Infrared Sauna Session in Julington Creek

An infrared sauna session is the easiest thing on the RE Spa menu to try. You walk into a warm wood cabin, sit down, and let the heat work for 20 to 40 minutes. If you have been curious about infrared sauna in Julington Creek, here is how it works, what it feels like, what it costs, and how to pair it with a massage or facial.

Infrared sauna versus a traditional sauna

A traditional sauna heats the air, often well past 170 degrees, and your body warms from the outside in. An infrared sauna emits light that your body absorbs directly, so the cabin air stays milder while you still build a deep sweat. Most first-timers say it feels like strong sunshine rather than an oven.

RE Spa uses a Clearlight full-spectrum infrared sauna with carbon and ceramic heaters that produce natural, low-EMF heat, with far infrared doing most of the deep warming. The sauna is always private: it is yours alone, or you can book it with a spouse, friend or family member. You will never share it with a stranger.

What guests come in for

Guests book the sauna for muscle recovery after a workout or a long week on your feet, for circulation and the loose, warm feeling that follows a good sweat, and for 30 quiet minutes without a phone. Our team describes it as a way to relax, improve circulation, reduce inflammation and support muscle recovery. Everyone responds a little differently, so treat your first session as a test drive.

What a session at RE Spa looks like

  • Arrive a few minutes early. Check in at the desk and drink some water before you go in.
  • Change and settle in. Most guests wear a swimsuit, gym shorts and a tank, or a towel. Leave jewelry and your watch outside, since metal heats up.
  • Sit back for 20 to 40 minutes. For a first visit, 20 to 25 minutes is plenty. You will start sweating around the ten-minute mark.
  • Listen to your body. Lightheaded or too warm? Step out. There is no prize for staying the full time.
  • Cool down and rehydrate. Take a few minutes before you dress, drink more water, and plan on a shower at home.

What it costs

If you have never visited RE Spa, your first infrared sauna session is $9.95 per person. That introductory rate is for first-time visitors only, and it is the lowest-commitment way to see the spa. After that, a single session is $59.95 for non-members, and packages bring the per-visit price down: 4 sessions for $59.95 or 8 sessions for $99.95.

Members get additional services at low member rates, sauna included. The RE Spa membership is $89.95 a month for one 60-minute massage or Classic Facial, with no sign-up or cancellation fees, visits that roll over while you are a member, and up to six friends or family members added at no extra cost. If you plan to sauna every week or two, the math works in your favor quickly.

Pairing sauna with a massage or facial

The most popular combination is sauna first, then massage. Warm muscles are easier to work, so deep tissue or sports massage after 20 minutes of infrared heat tends to go deeper with less discomfort. At RE Spa you pay for the time, not the type of massage, and hot towels, aromatherapy and Therabody percussion therapy are complimentary with every massage.

Sauna before a facial also works well: skin is warm, pores are open, and a Classic Facial or HydraFacial follows naturally. Mention it when you book and the desk will sequence the appointments back to back. The full menu is on our Services page.

Is infrared sauna safe if I am pregnant or have a health condition?
Check with your doctor first if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, or take medication that affects blood pressure or sweating.

Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. Book the sauna for yourself or with a spouse, friend or family member. It is never shared with other guests.
