How Often Should You Get a Facial? A Julington Creek Guide

Guests ask this at the front desk the moment their first facial ends: how soon should I come back? For most skin, about once a month. The longer answer depends on what your skin is doing and what you want it to do next. Here is how we answer it at RE Spa in Julington Creek.

The monthly rhythm, and why it works

Your skin renews itself on a cycle of roughly four to six weeks. New cells form in the deeper layers, travel to the surface, and eventually shed. A professional facial clears what has built up at the end of that cycle: dead cells, clogged pores, dullness, and the dehydration that comes with Florida air conditioning and Florida sun.

Booking every four to six weeks means your esthetician works with a fresh cycle each time instead of a backlog, and each visit builds on the last.

When to come more often, and when less

Some situations call for a tighter schedule for a while. Active breakouts or congestion usually respond best to a series of visits two to three weeks apart, then a monthly maintenance rhythm once things settle. A wedding, a reunion or a big event is another reason to book a short series, with the final facial about a week before the date so any post-treatment pinkness is gone.

On the other side, very sensitive or reactive skin sometimes does better with six to eight weeks between visits and a gentler treatment. Your esthetician will tell you which camp you fall into after seeing your skin up close.

Which RE Spa facial fits

Every facial on our Services page is customized to your skin, so the choice is less about picking a menu item and more about telling us your goal. This table is the quick version.

Your goal Start here Good rhythm
Overall maintenance, first facial, a reset Classic Facial Every 4 to 6 weeks
Breakouts and congestion on the back Classic Back Facial Every 3 to 4 weeks until clear, then monthly
Adult acne, oily skin Classic Facial with the IMAGE Acne Lift peel A short series, then monthly
Fine lines, dullness, uneven tone Classic Facial with the IMAGE Wrinkle Lift peel Every 4 weeks
Sensitive or irritated skin Classic Facial with the IMAGE Ormedic Lift peel Every 6 to 8 weeks
Deep hydration and instant glow HydraFacial (Signature, Deluxe or Platinum) Every 4 weeks

What the Classic Facial includes

The Classic Facial is our foundation treatment and the one we recommend for a first visit. It starts with a deep cleanse and exfoliation, then steam to open the pores and extractions to clear them. The middle of the treatment is a facial massage that boosts circulation and encourages lymphatic drainage, followed by a mask chosen for your skin that day, then toner and moisturizer.

A Classic Facial is $119.95 for non-members. Your first one at RE Spa is $89.95 as a new guest, and that same $89.95 is the monthly membership rate, which includes one 60-minute massage or Classic Facial each month with rollover that never expires while you are a member.

Peels and enhancements: how to build your facial

Once your esthetician knows your skin, the facial can grow with it. The three IMAGE peels are each $30: the Acne Lift for breakouts and congestion, the Wrinkle Lift for fine lines and tired skin, and the Ormedic Lift, a fruit-enzyme peel gentle enough for sensitive skin.

Enhancements add a targeted step. Dermaplaning ($40) and microdermabrasion ($30) are the two manual exfoliation options. The Neck and Decollete treatment ($30) carries the facial down to the areas people forget about. The four masks, HydroGel, ZO Brightening, IMAGE Transformation Firming and IMAGE Probiotic Purifying, are $15 each.

Where HydraFacial fits in

HydraFacial is a different technology: a handpiece that cleanses, extracts and hydrates in one pass, with serums chosen for your concerns. It gives the most immediate glow on our menu, and many guests alternate it with a Classic Facial month to month. We covered the three tiers and what each feels like in our earlier post, What Is a HydraFacial?

Frequently asked questions

Is once a month too often for a facial?
No. For most skin, four to six weeks is the ideal spacing. It lines up with your skin’s natural renewal cycle and lets each treatment build on the last.

Can I get a facial and a massage on the same day?
Yes, and many guests do. Book them back to back and let the front desk know you want them in the same visit.

Does a facial hurt?
Extractions can feel like a brief pinch and peels can tingle for a minute. Nothing should be painful; tell your esthetician if anything feels too strong.

How soon can I wear makeup after a facial?
Ideally wait until the next morning so your skin can absorb the treatment. If you must, a mineral powder is the gentlest option.

What if I do not know which facial to book?
Book the Classic Facial. Your esthetician assesses your skin at the start and can add a peel or enhancement in the room if it will help.
